Minor-league report: Ross hits three homers in Greensboro win taken on the South Side (Pirates)

A look at Wednesdayโ€™s minor-league action within the Pirates' system ...

INDIANAPOLIS (26-37) lost at Jacksonville, 3-1The Indians were held to just three hits -- two singles from Andres Alvarez and a solo home run from Matt Gorski.

Domingo German allowed three runs, one earned, on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He is 0-4 with a 6.93 ERA in five starts with Indianapolis.

ALTOONA (20-39) lost to Erie, 5-2The Curve mustered just four singles and zero extra-base hits and struck out 11 times as a team. They went 1-for-10 in scoring position. 

Joe Perez hit an RBI single and Jase Bowen stole home on a double steal in the first. 

GREENSBORO (33-25) won at Winston-Salem, 7-1. Shawn Ross hit three home runs, two solo and one two-run blast. Charles McAdoo hit a two-run triple in the second inning.

Patrick Reilly allowed a run on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

BRADENTON (25-34) lost both ends of a double header of seven-inning games at Dunedin, 8-4 in Game 1 and 2-1 in Game 2. 

In Game 1, Omar Alfonzo hit a two-run homer as part of Bradenton's four-run third inning. 

Keiner Delgado had an RBI double and Jeral Toledo an RBI triple. Starer Hung-Leng Chang allowed five runs on five hits in four innings. Peyton Stumbo surrendered three runs on three hits in an inning of relief.

In Game 2, Javier Rivas' homer in the third inning provided Bradenton's run.

Antwone Kelly went the distance for Bradenton. In six innings, he allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits while walking one and striking out eight.
