Minor-league report: Davis continues to mash with Indianapolis

A look at Tuesday’s minor-league action within the Pirates' system ...

INDIANAPOLIS (21-22) pounded Iowa, 18-6. Henry Davis went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a two-run home run. He walked twice and scored four runs.

Davis is now hitting .279 with four homers, 11 RBIs, three doubles and a .456 on-base percentage in 12 games with Indianapolis.

Matt Gorski went 3-for-6 with a three-run homer in the fourth inning and a two-run homer in the sixth inning.

Gorski is 7-for-12 with four home runs and driven in 13 runs in his last three games. Quinn Priester allowed three runs on eight hits in four innings.

ALTOONA (10-30) lost at Erie, 11-1. The Curve were limited to three hits. Their lone run was scored on Francisco Acuna's double in the fifth. Curve starter Po-Yu Chen allowed five runs on six hits in four innings of work. Reliever Justin Meis allowed five runs in the eighth inning, his lone frame of relief. 

The Curve lineup had more walks (four) than hits.

GREENSBORO (23-17) lost to Greenville, 15-2. Termarr Johnson's double in the first inning was the Grasshoppers' lone hit until Maikol Escotto's single in the eighth. Greensboro scored both of their runs in that inning. Greensboro struck out 16 times as a team.

Grasshoppers starter J.P. Massey allowed seven runs on six hits, three of those home runs, while walking three and striking out four in 3 2/3 innings. Reliever Jaycob Deese allowed six runs, four earned, in one-third of an inning.

BRADENTON (17-23) lost to Dunedin, 6-4. Marauders starter Hung-Leng Cheng allowed four runs on eight hits in four innings. Dunedin's Cristian Feliz hit a two-run home run in the second inning. 

Sergio Campana hit a solo home run for Bradenton in the fourth. Keiner Delgado and Axiel Plaz brought home runs in the seventh. Braylon Bishop hit a solo home run in the eighth.
