Darrelle Revis.

Darrelle Revis is officially headed to Canton.

The former Aliquippa High School and Pitt cornerback will be enshrined as one of nine members into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2023, it was announced during Thursday's annual "NFL Honors" show.

Joining Revis within the class, which will be formally enshrined Aug. 5, are defensive back Ronde Barber, coach Don Coryell, linebacker Chuck Howley, defensive lineman Joe Klecko, cornerback Ken Riley, offensive lineman Joe Thomas, linebacker Zach Thomas, and defensive end DeMarcus Ware.

Revis was elected on his first time on the ballot.

“On behalf of the University of Pittsburgh, I want to congratulate Darrelle Revis on his incredibly deserved election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi said in a statement. “When you say ‘shutdown corner,’ you immediately think of Darrelle. I don’t think anyone played the position better than him. He simply dominated opposing wide receivers, whether it was at Aliquippa, Pitt or in the National Football League.”

Revis is the tenth former Pitt player to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, joining Jimbo Covert (class of 2020), Mike Ditka (1988), Chris Doleman (2012), Tony Dorsett (1994), Russ Grimm (2010), Rickey Jackson (2010), Dan Marino (2005), Curtis Martin (2012)and Joe Schmidt (1973).

Upon Revis' formal enshrinement, Pitt will be one of five college programs to boast at least 10 Pro Football Hall of Famers, joining Notre Dame (13), Southern California (13), Michigan (11), and Ohio State (10).

Revis immediately made his presence felt upon his arrival to Pitt in 2004, in which he earned a Freshman All-American honor and helped the Panthers to a Big East championship and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. Revis accumulated 80 total tackles, eight interceptions, and five total touchdowns -- three via punt return -- during his 35-game career at Pitt.

He was drafted 14th overall by the New York Jets in 2007, which kicked off a historic 11-year career in the NFL.

Revis was elected to seven Pro Bowls, is a four-time first-team All-Pro, and is a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade team. He is a Super Bowl champion as a member of the New England Patriots, which defeated Seattle 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1, 2015, to conclude his lone season with the team.

He caught 29 interceptions -- returning three for touchdowns -- and defended 139 passes and recovered 12 fumbles in his career. His 139 passes defended are tied for 19th in NFL history alongside Hall of Famer Ed Reed.
