Top 2023 wide receiver Hykeem Williams is staying in his home state, as he announced his commitment to Florida State in a broadcast from his high school on Friday afternoon.

Pitt wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood made every effort to earn the commitment of the No. 5 receiver and the No. 26 overall recruit in his class, but the four-star made the declaration to remain in the state of Florida.

The Fort Lauderdale native and product of Stranahan High School put on a black baseball cap sporting the Seminoles' trademark logo, and former Seminoles great Peter Warrick handed him a Seminoles maroon jersey with his last name and the number 1 on the back, as the Seminoles' trademark tomahawk chop song played on his school's gymnasium speakers.

Per 247Sports, Williams held 35 total offers. He narrowed down his top six programs in August, and Pitt was on he short list of potentials. Williams was in attendance for the Panthers' most recent home game against Tennessee two weeks ago.

Also highly in the mix were Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, and Miami.
