ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers announced tight end Eric Ebron and offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer have been placed on the Reserve/Injured List Saturday afternoon.
Ebron's season has been put on hold as a result of a knee injury suffered against the Los Angeles Chargers last week that will require surgery. Ebron had caught each of his final 11 targets prior to his injury including a touchdown reception against the Chargers. He had been hampered by a hamstring injury as well as the emergence of rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth this season.
With him now being on the Reserve/Injured list, Ebron will be out at least three games which would put him able to return at the absolute earliest during week 15 against the Tennessee Titans
Hassenauer was also injured against the Chargers with his involving his pectoral muscle. He had steadily been improving his rep count for the Steelers up front and had started against the Chargers with the offensive line being depleted due to other injuries. He, too, will be eligible to return against the Titans.
Cornerback Joe Haden will miss his second game in a row after he was downgraded to out with a foot injury.
As a result of the aforementioned injuries, the Steelers have added offensive lineman John Leglue to the 53-man roster as well as elevated defensive lineman Daniel Archibong and wide receiver Anthony Miller to the Active/Inactive roster. The Steelers also signed kicker Sam Sloman to the practice squad.
Leglue was one of the final roster cuts out of training camp for the Steelers before the beginning of the 2021 season. Archibong, a Temple product, began the season with the Chicago Bears before being signed to the Steelers' practice squad. Miller is a former second-round pick of the Bears.
Archibong and Miller will revert back to the practice squad without having to clear waivers following Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
