• That's that. Yowza. Baseball season.
• GOAL. Rust on a tip from Grzelcyk and Sid. So he's only one point away. Time: 14:15, third period. Lightning, 6-1
• Imama's out of control here early in the third, pretty much chopping away at Hagel all over the rink. Gets two minors for slashing and a 10-minute misconduct. Should've gotten an additional slash and a rough.
• Third period underway. Not sure why.
• End second period. Shots are 21-7.
• GOAL. Hagel does well too out-position Lizotte for a back-door tap-in. Exceptional pass from Perbix. Other assist: Lilleberg. Time: 19:19, second period. Lightning, 6-0
• GOAL. Kucherov was replaced at the outset of the power play, but he made it back in time to whip one past Ned from the right dot. Assists: Raddysh, Bjorkstrand. Time: 13:31, second period. Lightning, 5-0
• Graves drives Kucherov into the top of Ned's helmet. He's down the tunnel and Graves heads to the box.
• The Penguins haven't registered a shot since this same stage of the first period.
• Point utterly emasculates Graves at the Pittsburgh blue line to manufacture his own breakaway, but Ned rejects his backhand try.
• OK, Grzelcyk's up and skates to the bench on his own. Nothing wrong with the hit. Shoulder to shoulder. Hagel was over the entire time Grzelcyk was being treated. Hockey play.
• Second period underway. And in the first few seconds, Hagel comes crashing into Grzelcyk in the end boards, and the latter's down. Looks like bell's rung. Badly. Ow.
• End first period. Shots wound up 10-4 for Tampa.
• Hayes flagrantly hooked down behind the Pittsburgh net to create a Tampa scoring chance and no call. I don't care what the score is. Refs have to do the damned job. Hayes flicks a hand in the guy's direction as he goes off.
• And yeah, here comes Alex Nedeljković.
• GOAL. Oh, no. Gotta get him now. Jarry actually made a sharp toe save, but the rebound skitters past him off Point's blade. Hate to see this, but that's four goals on six shots. Need to protect him. Assists: Guentzel, Kucherov. Time: 16:00, first period. Lightning, 4-0
• GOAL. Ouch. Cirelli beats Jarry cleanly to the short side, under the blocker. That's not a good one there. Probably the worst he's allowed since his return. Assists: Hagel, Moser. Time: 15:12, first period. Lightning, 3-0
• This is kinda goofy. The Penguins aren't playing badly here. Two stupid things have happened to Rakell, and the Lightning have two goals on four total shots.
• GOAL. Centering pass goes off Rakell's right skate. Assists: Kucherov, Cernak. Time: 13:30, first period. Lightning, 2-0
• GOAL. Cirelli. Extended shift for the Bolts after Rakell's stick was broken blocking a shot. Entire team really never got reset. Assists: Paul, McDonagh. Time: 12:13, first period. Lightning, 1-0
• Timmins with a quality chance -- and shot -- swallowed up by big 88. Anyone notice the Penguins are getting everyone's No. 1 goaltenders again?
• Solid opening five minutes for the visitors. Shot apiece.
• Good stop by Jarry on Cirelli, one-time from right dot. Only shot so far.
• Surreal breakout pass just now by Sid. I'm speechless. Even for him. Anyone else see it?
• Faceoff: Penguins vs. Lightning, Sid vs. Cirelli, 7:08 p.m.
• Fabulous anthem. Wow.
• Place is packed, as ever here. Plenty of black and gold. More than in Sunrise, which is beyond bizarre.
• For Jon Cooper's Bolts, an 11/7 set:
Jake Guentzel-Brayden Point-Nikita Kucherov Brandon Hagel-Anthony Cirelli-Nick Paul Oliver Bjorkstrand-Yanni Gourde-Gage Goncalves Zemgus Girgensons-Luke Glendening
Victor Hedman-J.J. Moser Ryan McDonagh-Erik Cernak Emil Lilleberg-Nick Perbix Darren Raddysh
Matt Grzelcyk-Kris Letang Erik Karlsson-Conor Timmins Ryan Graves-Vladislav-Kolyachonok
• Upper-body injury for Geno.
• Visiting lineup's up. No Geno. He did partake in the full morning skate today. I presume there'll be an update here soon.
• Both teams on the ice. No Evgeni Malkin.
