Tom Reed


Tom Reed, a native of Warren, Ohio - a city divided between Steelers and Browns fans - is a features/enterprise writer for DK Pittsburgh Sports.

He began working in the field in 1990 at the Warren Tribune-Chronicle, where he spent a decade in the sports and news departments. In 2000, he joined the Akron Beacon Journal, where he covered high school and pro sports, while also providing Olympic coverage from Athens, Greece and Turin, Italy. In 2006, he joined the Columbus Dispatch, where he spent four seasons as a Blue Jackets beat writer. In 2011, he moved to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, where he covered the Cavaliers and Browns. After returning to the Dispatch for one year in 2016, he joined The Athletic, where he reported on the Browns and Blue Jackets before becoming an enterprise writer.

Tom and his wife, Denise, live in Columbus, Ohio with a household full of pets. Denise is a Braille transcriber for the state school for the blind. Tom has smoked more cigars than Art Rooney.
