The Steelers have signed first-round pick Troy Fautanu to a four-year contract, the team announced Monday afternoon. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As it is with all first-round picks, the four-year contract comes with a fifth-year option, which the team must pick up or decline prior to a set deadline ahead of the fourth year of the contract.
Fautanu was selected 20th overall by the Steelers in the 2024 NFL Draft, making it back-to-back years the team took a tackle in the first round. Fautanu was named All-Pac-12 first team in 2023, the second straight year he earned the honor. He started all 15 games at left tackle in 2023 and won the Morris Trophy as the top offensive lineman in the Pac-12 Conference, an award that is voted on by the Pac-12 defensive linemen.
The Steelers went all out in their homework on Fautanu. The team met with Fautanu at the Combine in Indianapolis, offensive line coach Pat Meyer visited with him during Washington's pro day and the Steelers hosted him for one of the 30 allotted pre-draft visits.
Despite playing left tackle almost exclusively at Washington, Fautanu has worked on the right side during OTAs this spring. Fautanu will be in the mix for the starting job at right tackle during training camp, but 2023 first-rounder Broderick Jones will have a leg up on him should Dan Moore do enough to maintain his starting job at left tackle.
To date, the Steelers have signed all of their draft picks except for second-round pick Zach Frazier. There's still plenty of time this summer to get him signed.
