Survey Says: Penguins players' favorite foods? taken in Downtown (Penguins)

PENGUINS

Erik Karlsson committing pasta atrocities.

We're getting to the tail end of these Survey Says features I built up over the course of the season. This one was a simple one -- What is your favorite food?

Spoiler alert -- Erik Karlsson says he likes Italian food. But after seeing what he considers an acceptable plate of pasta in his pregame meal, he's using "Italian" leniently:

Here is how Penguins players (and some now-former Penguins players) answered the question on their favorite food.

Noel Acciari: Cookies.

Valtteri Puustinen: Here, I would say macaroni in the box. Because it is so easy. You do that one time per week, there is a big box, then you eat it for a couple days, the same food. That's easy.

P.O Joseph: My grandma's food. It's typical Haitian food, so not something that I can grab anywhere. It's really from her doing it.

John Ludvig: It would be a Czech food, Knedlo vepřo zelo. It's dumplings with a sauerkraut sauce and roasted pork. It's different but I really like it.

Erik Karlsson: Italian -- pizza, pasta, just Italian food in general.

Jake Guentzel: Sushi.

Joona Koppanen: I would say salmon, rice and some vegetables.

Emil Bemstrom: Asian fusion. I like popcorn shrimp.

Sam Poulin: Sushi. Nothing specific, I just need spicy mayo.

Kris Letang: Steak, probably.

Radim Zohorna: Probably some pasta.

Reilly Smith: Pizza, and I'm not very original. Just a pepperoni guy.

Lars Eller: Italian, just everything.

Ryan Shea: Steak. For sure. Easily.

Jack St. Ivany: Sushi. Spicy tuna, crispy rice.

Rickard Rakell: Swedish food. Swedish pizza is always nice. I think my favorite is filet mignon pizza with a béarnaise sauce on it.

Marcus Pettersson. Pizza, like the pizza we have back home. It's a pizza roll. They have the pizza dough, they roll it into a roll. So I'd say that. It's the dough first, then you have tomato sauce and kebab meat, like gyros. Then lettuce, tomatoes, onion, some spicy peppers. And some white sauce and some red sauce.

Tristan Jarry: Steak.

Chad Ruhwedel: Sushi or Mexican.

Magnus Hellberg: A really good marbled steak.

Sidney Crosby: Pasta, chicken parm, anything Italian.

Jonathan Gruden: Pizza, and it's not even close. I'm a plain guy, just cheese. And when I'm feeling a little frisky I like Hawaiian pizza, I love pineapple.

Jesse Puljujarvi: I really like pizza. (Me: What topping?) Tuna. Not here, but back home.

Colin White: Steak, that's my go-to.

Bryan Rust: Anything Italian. Cheese tortellini, probably.

Alex Nedeljkovic: Orange chicken.

Michael Bunting: Chicken parm. I'd like to say steak, but I'm turning into a chicken parm fan this year.

Ryan Graves: Pasta. But if I'm going cheap takeout, I love Chinese food or like, Pad Thai.

Drew O'Connor: Sushi.

Jansen Harkins: Honestly, probably cereal. Froot Loops.
