I can be silent no longer.
Sauerkraut Saul is a loser.
And I mean that beyond the fact that he lost in the Great Pittsburgh Pierogi Race at PNC Park yet again Saturday. Or that he has not win a single race since 2021.
It's that he's not even competitive. For the life of me, I cannot recall a single race this year where he was even close to winning.
So on Kentucky Derby Day, I recorded this sad excuse for a racer in action, finishing no fewer than 20 lengths away from the front of the pack:
There was a time where the old Sauerkraut Saul wouldn't have stood for this and clotheslined the Parrot or something.
This is just embarrassing. Potato Pete came out of retirement this year and hasn't missed a beat. Jalapeño Hannah, Cheese Chester, Oliver Onion... all of them are competitive every single year. What Saul has done is a disgrace to the sport.
This is not a pierogi who is serious about honoring the storied history of the pierogies who came before him, or someone who thinks that a couple high fives makes up to the fans that they aren't entertaining. He is not a racer. He is but a hollow excuse of a Polish side dish. One that does not entertain. One that does not deserve to take the field after the top of the fifth if he is not going to earnestly race.
Saul is a loser. He will continue to lose.
