Antonio Brown during his playing days with the Steelers.

It's probably fair to call Antonio Brown one of the most selfish Steelers players ever, and perhaps even one of the most selfish NFL players of his generation.

Time and time again, AB did things and said things that reeked of selfishness, and even Tom Brady called the wide receiver out on it last year.

โ€œYou are demonstrating very poor decisions and poor communication to so many people who have gone above and beyond to help you. You are acting selfish and unfortunately many of those people are exhausted by the erratic and unpredictable emotional behavior,โ€ the alleged text from Brady said.

It later continued: โ€œUnfortunately you have reverted very much back to a young immature man that is selfish, self serving, irrational and irresponsible. I for one, am disappointed in many behaviors over the past few months. You have seemed to have lost that humility and that APG. You have gone from hanging around good quality people that had genuine interest in seeing you succeed, to seeing others whose lives are erratic and out of control and leading you down a negative path.โ€

Even the end of Brown's playing career came down to selfishness, as he apparently quit on his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates during a game against the New York Jets in January of 2022.

It may have seemed like nothing would ever make AB see the error of his ways and how his selfish behavior may have hurt his career and the teams he played for, including the Steelers.

But this weekend, something sort of miraculous happened.

Brown is part owner of the Albany Empire of the Arena League, and something big must have happened with the team, prompting him to send out this tweet:

There are some great responses in the thread of that tweet, including this gem:

So far there has been no indication of what transpired that led AB to make the declaration.

But given all the headaches he caused coaches and owners with his own behavior throughout his playing career, seeing Brown finally come to the realization he did has to be a sign of at least some personal growth.
