ALTOONA, Pa. -- A lot of Penn State fans wanted to see Bobby Engram come back home to be the new wide receivers coach, which didn't happen, as the job went to Marques Hagans.
Now, Engram has a chance at a much more lucrative job. He has been interviewed twice by the Baltimore Ravens for the offensive coordinator job, according to The Athletic.
The Ravens have conducted interviews with a plethora of candidates, per The Athletic, including another prominent Penn State connection -- Joe Moorhead. Baltimore parted ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman two weeks ago.
Engram, a former Penn State wide receiver and the No. 1 target on the undefeated 1994 team, served as the Ravens' wide receivers coach from 2014-18. He has familiarity, therefore, with the organization and longtime coach John Harbaugh.
Engram was an NFL wide receiver from 1996-2009 and finished his pro career with 650 catches for 7,751 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Engram spent the 2022 season as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Wisconsin. But he was not retained when the school fired coach Paul Chryst and hired Luke Fickell.
Moorhead served as Penn State's offensive coordinator from 2016-17 and helped the Lions win the Big Ten championship his first season. He left to become head coach at Mississippi State, then moved on to become offensive coordinator at Oregon.
Moorhead, a Pittsburgh native, is now head coach at Akron. He went 2-10 during his first season with the Zips in 2022.
Moorhead's name also has surfaced as a potential candidate for the offensive coordinator job at Notre Dame. Tommy Rees just left that position for the same job at Alabama.
