The more podcasts we put out, the more openings there are for sponsorships.
And the more our podcasts get consumed, the more cause there is to believe that your business would benefit by coming aboard.
In 2022, for example, my own Daily Shots of Steelers, Penguins and Pirates -- three separate shows each weekday morning -- grew in audience by a still-stunning-to-me degree of 64%. One episode of Daily Shot of Steelers a few days ago had 11,898 listeners on YouTube, plus 4,266 combined downloads on Apple, Spotify, Google and other podcasting platforms.
That's a total of 16,164 listeners, which essentially equates to that of any popular morning radio show. And I'll remind, that's just one of the three shows.
Crazy, right?
Well, each show has eight available spots for ads, either pre-recorded or read by me. We don't fill all eight spots, as any listener knows, and we don't plan to. But the national market that automatically fills some openings has begun to big-time dry up, and we're hoping to replace some of those vacancies with people/businesses we know and can speak about highly with confidence. The way we now do about Point Park University, Mike's Beer Bar, North Shore Tavern, the GetGo Cafe+Market and many others.
We're open to businesses large and small, we're far less pricier than radio and, as shown above, we've got either the same or better reach, depending on the comparison point. And, best of all, Dali wants to sell these openings at HALF-OFF through the end of February, if only so we don't have to worry about it later in the year when we get a lot busier.

I'm here to answer any questions you might have about programming, where/how we'd handle your ad, and Dali would take over from there.
We both look forward to hearing from you!
INSIDE THE WORKS
• Everyone was heard loud and clear regarding the idea to bring back the 'Lunatic' designation, even though we no longer offer three-year subscriptions, by adding a yellow LUNATIC stripe under that individual's avatar for anyone who's been with us for five-plus years. Just a matter of seeing when BoomPress and Adam Bertram can get to it. But it's a go.
• Our aim for 2023, per a discussion this week, will be 1,000 completely new subscribers. If you've got any ideas for how our broader community can get involved in that -- meaning aside from military/gift subscriptions -- I'm all ears down in the comments.
• Also considering starting the military run earlier this year. I'm prepared to take full blame for falling short of the goal in 2022.
• Super-disappointing week for Pitt page views: A grand total of 7,169, with no individual article reaching 1,000. I'll repeat that we're putting a lot into the coverage, between a (very good) full-time reporter in Corey Crisan and full travel that included three road basketball games in the past week. Not sure what else can be done.
• The Point Park University Friday Insider has undergone a pretty significant change the past couple weeks -- and yet, no change at all -- in that I'm doing it myself again, as I did when the site was launched. Hope you've liked them both so far. I know I've legit enjoyed doing them again. I stay focused on keeping my ear to the ground a little more, too, which is a healthy side benefit.
• Does anyone else realize how long we've sustained our usual schedule of weekly features, by the way? Talk about consistency, huh?
• Travel on tap: Taylor Haase will cover the Penguins' trips this week to Newark, N.J., and Washington, then the NHL's All-Star weekend, Feb. 3-4, in Sunrise, Fla. After the break, Danny Shirey and I will double-team the Penguins' first post-break trip across California. ... The Pirates' first workout in Bradenton, Fla., is Feb. 15. Alex will fly down for that, and he'll be down there for most of spring training. I'll make a couple trips myself, and Chris Halicke will help, too, in addition to some NFL-based travel he'll make.
