Survey Says: Which teammate would Penguins MOST want as roommate on road? taken in Cranberry, Pa. (Penguins)

PENGUINS

Marcus Pettersson, Rickard Rakell on a road trip.

CRANBERRY, Pa. -- Last week in this space we heard about who the Penguins' players would least want as a roommate on a road trip.

It's only right that this week we hear who the players would most want to have as a roommate on a road trip.

Some of these were pretty obvious -- it's no surprise that the Swedes picked each other here. If anything, it was surprising to me that both of them took a moment to scan the room and ponder the question if there was even a remote chance they'd chose someone other than each other.

Other answers to the question gave us a peek at what some of the other relationships are like in the locker room. Some answers are pretty funny, too.

Luckily for the players, anyone not on an entry-level contract is guaranteed their own room on the road, a rule that's been in the league's collective bargaining agreement since 2013. Nobody has to have a roommate. But it's fun to see who they all would choose nonetheless.

Here's how they answered.

Jason Zucker: "Anybody but Bryan Rust. But Kappy's my guy. We get along, we're fantasy football partners together so we've got some stuff to talk about. He's just a good dude."

Kasperi Kapanen: "Everybody in here is awesome and I love hanging out with them. But I'd probably take Jason Zucker. I think me and him just mesh well together. Last year we lived close to each other so we were hanging out a bunch. I think he's just a funny guy. I'm not that funny of a guy, but he laughs at all my jokes. It always makes me feel that much better."

Danton Heinen: "I'll go with Teddy Blueger. He's just an interesting guy. He's got a few layers to him. So I'm sure he'd keep me busy.

Bryan Rust: "Probably Dumo. He usually brings a few nice bottles of wine on the road, so I definitely would be indulging in that."

Brian Dumoulin: "Chad Ruhwedel, we have similar interests. We could spend a night together. He likes wine too."

Brock McGinn: "Carter. We have some similar likes and think we'd have a lot of fun together."

P.O Joseph: "I feel like Zuck. He's always there to pick me up from time to time, so I feel like we'd have a good time. But mainly everyone. I mean, I don't have any trouble with anybody here."

Tristan Jarry: "Probably Teddy, I feel like we have similar routine on game days. I feel like we get to the rink similar times and we eat at a similar time. So I think just having the same schedule as someone usually works well, you're able to get your rest at the same time. I think that kind of helps you just prepare on game days as a routine standpoint."

Mark Friedman: "Dumo. Everywhere we go, he always knows the best restaurants."

Marcus Pettersson: "Rickard, just because we're good friends. We can speak our native tongue in the room and everything."

Rickard Rakell: "Me and Petey have a blast. We were roommates at the end of last year, we had a lot of fun. I could see myself doing that. But it could get to be too much."

Casey DeSmith: "Teddy, he just makes me laugh."

Jake Guentzel: "I'd probably say Rusty because he likes to play video games. If you're stuck in the room you can play video games all day."

Kris Letang: "Sid. We just get along and have the same interests."

Sidney Crosby: "I'll go Tanger. I've played with him for a long time and he has some interesting takes on things. He's really opinionated. He'd keep me entertained for awhile with some of his opinions."
