James Harrison.

James Harrison leads a club of six former Steelers, along with former Pitt and Aliquippa star Darrelle Revis, who have earned Modern-Era nominations for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2023, it was announced on Tuesday.

Harrison is the lone former Steeler to earn a Modern-Era nomination for the first time, and he joins wide receiver Hines Ward, nose tackle Casey Hampton, linebackers James Farrior and Chad Brown, and place-kicker Gary Andersen as former Pittsburgh players on the list of 2023 Modern-Era nominees.

Harrison and Revis are among nine first-time Modern-Era nominees, which also include running back Chris Johnson, offensive linemen Jahri Evans and Joe Thomas, defensive lineman Dwight Freeney, linebacker NaVorro Bowman, defensive back Kam Chancellor, and punter Shane Lechler.

Also joining Revis as a Pitt alumnus to be nominated is offensive lineman Ruben Brown, who made his mark in his 13-year career with Buffalo and Chicago.

The list of Modern-Era nominees will be reduced to 25 semifinalists in November, and it will reduce again to 15 finalists in January of 2023.
