Penguins players garner votes for NHL Awards taken at PPG Paints Arena (Penguins)

No Penguins players were finalists for any of the league's awards this year, but a number of players garnered votes.

Dejan Kovacevic and I both submitted ballots this year, which can be found in full here.

Here are the winners for the different awards and a look at where Penguins players finished in the voting totals.

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: The player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team
Voters: Professional Hockey Writers Association
Winner: Auston Matthews
Finalists: Connor McDavid, Igor Shesterkin

No Penguins players received votes for the Hart.

TED LINDSAY AWARD
Awarded to: The most outstanding player in the NHL
Voters: NHL Players Association
Winner: Auston Matthews
Finalists: Roman Josi, Connor McDavid

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: The defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position
Voters: Professional Hockey Writers Association
Winner: Cale Makar
Finalists: Roman Josi, Victor Hedman

Kris Letang received a number of votes for the Norris and finished seventh in the voting. He was ranked fourth on 18 ballots, and ranked fifth on 19 ballots.

CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: The player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition

No Penguins players received any votes for the rookie of the year.

VEZINA TROPHY
Awarded to: The goaltender adjudged to be the best at his position
Voters: NHL general managers
Winner: Igor Shesterkin
Finalists: Jacob Markstrom, Juuse Saros

Tristan Jarry tied for seventh in voting for goaltender of the year, receiving one third-place vote.

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY
Awarded to: The forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game
Voters: Professional Hockey Writers Association
Winner: Patrice Bergeron
Finalists: Elias Lindholm, Aleksander Barkov

There were 38 different forwards who received votes for the top defensive forward, including two Penguins. Sidney Crosby and Evan Rodrigues both tied for 34th in voting, each receiving one fifth-place vote.

KING CLANCY MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: Player who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice and who has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community
Voters: Senior NHL executives
Winner: P.K. Subban
Finalists: Ryan Getzlaf, Darnell Nurse

The votes for this award aren't made public. The Penguins' nominee was Bryan Rust.

JACK ADAMS AWARD
Awarded to: The NHL coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success
Voters: NHL Broadcasters’ Association
Winner: Darryl Sutter
Finalists: Andrew Brunette, Gerard Gallant

Mike Sullivan finished eighth in voting, receiving two first-place votes and three second-place votes.

MARK MESSIER LEADERSHIP AWARD
Awarded to: The player who exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team, on and off the ice, during the regular season and who plays a leading role in his community growing the game of hockey
Voter: Mark Messier
Winner: Anze Kopitar

Messier alone selects the recipient for this award. He takes suggestions from league personnel to compile a list of potential candidates, and he chooses the winner from that list.

BILL MASTERTON MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: The player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.
Voters: Professional Hockey Writers Association
Winner: Carey Price
Finalists: Kevin Hayes, Zdeno Chara

Each local chapter of the PHWA nominates a player for the award, and then PHWA members league-wide vote between the 32 nominees. The Penguins' nominee was Brian Boyle, who finished sixth in the voting with six first-place votes, eight second-place votes, and 17 third-place votes.

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY
Awarded to: The player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability
Voters: Professional Hockey Writers Association

A whopping 71 different players received votes for the Lady Byng. No Penguins players received votes.

Three Penguins players received All-Star Team votes. Sidney Crosby ranked ninth among centers with four third-place votes. Jarry tied for 11th among goaltenders with one third-place vote. Letang finished seventh among defensemen with 16 second-place votes and 41 third-place votes.
