It might not have been one of the big-name players whose names are being bandied about, but the Steelers made a move to re-sign one of their own players Friday on the eve of the start of free agency next week.
Safety Miles Killebrew has agreed to return to the Steelers on a two-year, $4 million deal according to the NFL Network.

Killebrew, 28, spent his first five seasons with the Lions before joining the Steelers on a one-year deal last season. He immediately became a core special teams player. Killebrew was the only player in the NFL last season who recorded two blocked punts.
He also seven tackles on special teams and also played in some bigger packages defensively for the Steelers.
The move also signals that the Steelers have begun reaching out with some of their pending free agents to make offers or at least touch base before free agency begins. All teams can legally begin speaking to pending free agents on Monday in the legal tampering period. Free agency will begin in earnest at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
