ALTOONA, Pa. -- Duquesne trailed Atlantic 10 foe Davidson by 17 points in the second half eventually cutting the deficit to six before ultimately coming up on the losing end of the battle, 72-61.

It was the tenth loss in a row for the Dukes who fell to 6-17 with a 1-10 record in the Atlantic 10.

Freshman guard Primo Spears led the way for Duquesne with 20 points while fellow freshman guard Jackie Johnson III chipped in 14 of his own for a Dukes team that struggled mightily from the field in the first half shooting 37.5 percent. That's a stark contrast to Davidson who came out on fire with a 58 percent shooting percentage in the first half.

All 14 points of Johnson's came in the second half while it was the fifth time Spears at scored 20 or more points in a game this season. Kevin Easley, Jr. added 12 points to round out the majority of Duquesne's scoring.

The Dukes never led in the contest but they were tied at two points apiece early in the game.
