CRANBERRY, Pa. -- Drew O'Connor remains sidelined for the Penguins with what Mike Sullivan has only disclosed as being an "upper-body injury."
O'Connor played limited fourth-line minutes in the Penguins' win in San Jose on Jan. 15, then was put on long-term injured reserve shortly after.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, O'Connor was sidelined with a collapsed lung that is believed to be completely unrelated to his earlier bout with COVID-19.
O'Connor got treatment for the collapsed lung in Vegas, then had to be driven from Vegas back to Pittsburgh as he was unable to fly.
O'Connor has yet to get back on the ice to skate since going on the injured list, but it is hoped that he can return to the ice sometime in the coming days.
