PENGUINS

P.O Joseph

The Penguins removed defenseman P.O Joseph from the NHL's COVID protocol list and assigned him to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Ron Hextall announced on Monday.

Joseph was previously recalled from Wilkes-Barre to Pittsburgh's taxi squad on Dec. 28, but tested positive for COVID upon arriving to Pittsburgh that morning and was put into protocol.

As of Sunday afternoon, the other players remaining in COVID protocol for the Penguins were Jeff Carter, Kasperi Kapanen, and Tristan Jarry. Teddy Blueger was activated from protocol on Sunday and skated on his own, but wasn't yet ready to return in the Penguins' game against the Sharks.

The Penguins had an off day on Monday and are scheduled to return to practice Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Cranberry.
