ALTOONA, Pa. -- Another late second-half collapse for Robert Morris led to the Colonials falling to 0-7 on the season and 0-2 in the Horizon League with a 77-69 loss to Milwaukee Saturday afternoon.
Rasheem Dunn tied the game at 61-61 with 6:16 left in the contest before Milwaukee went on a 12-2 run to grab a 10-point advantage at 73-63, ultimately putting the game away for good.
"We've got to figure out a way to get over the hump, and we've got to figure a way to execute on both sides so that with five or six minutes left we don't have the breakdowns," head coach Andrew Toole said. "The effort should never waver and should always be consistent. You may not play well but you can always play hard. We did play hard today, but we need to find a way to play hard and well."
Kahlil Spear slammed home a dunk to pull the Colonials within six points, but the Panthers were able to hold Robert Morris to only two points the final 1:40 of the game.
The Colonials have struggled to finish games all season and have started the season with back-to-back losses in the Horizon League and will return home after three in a row on the road in search of their first win.
"We have too many self-inflicted wounds at times, and those have been difficult to overcome," Toole said. "I liked the way we competed tonight, but we just have to keep getting our guys together during practice and keep working to get better. We'll keep working until we get the results we want."
