ALTOONA, Pa. -- Robert Morris fell to Davidson 88-70 Saturday moving the Colonials to 0-5 on the season.

The Colonials were unable to overcome a second half surge from the Wildcats in which they hit seven of their first eight shots to extend the lead for good.

Kahliel Spear led the way for the Colonials with 15 points while Jaron Williams added 13 points of his own. It was yet another game where Robert Morris was in position to pull away and extend a lead, but was unable to do so before ultimately coming up on the losing end once again.

"I thought we did a really good job in the first half of not allowing them to get catch-and-shoot three's, but we weren't able to do that in the second half," Robert Morris head coach Andrew Toole said following the game. "We can't string enough stops together or when we need them in order to win. We have to figure out a way to teach the defensive concepts and then transfer that to the court."

The Colonials have gone through some significant growing pains since joining the Horizon League prior to the 2020 season. Since then, Robert Morris has had quite a bit of roster turnover and it's backfiring big time as a result.

"We coach the guys that are on the court. Availability is a skill," Toole said. "For the majority of the game we had good effort, but we need to check all those boxes and play a full 40 minutes in order to be successful. We have a lot to get better at, and I'm looking forward to a week of practice before we open Horizon League play."
