Last season the Penguins brought back the diagonal 'Pittsburgh'-style jerseys, albeit in new colors, for their "reverse retro" alternate jerseys.

This year they'll bring back the diagonal 'Pittsburgh' jerseys in their original colors as their new thirds.

The Penguins on Wednesday revealed their new alternates, identical to the away jerseys worn by the team in the 90s, just replacing the robo-pigeon logo on the shoulder patch with the current logo:

The jerseys will go on sale on Dec. 11, and will be carried exclusively at the team store PensGear (as well as the online store) through Dec. 15. Beginning Dec. 16, the jersey will also be available for purchase at DICK'S Sporting Goods and other retail locations.

The Penguins will debut the new thirds on Dec. 11 against the Ducks, and will wear them for 12 home games this season:

December 11 vs. Anaheim

December 17 vs. Buffalo

January 2 vs. San Jose

January 23 vs. Winnipeg

January 28 vs. Detroit

February 26 vs. NY Rangers

March 11 vs. Vegas

March 13 vs. Carolina

March 27 vs. Detroit

April 9 vs. Washington

April 12 vs. Columbus

April 21 vs. Boston
