Pirates release 2021 broadcast schedule taken at PNC Park (Pirates)

PNC Park.

For the first time ever, all 162 regular season Pirates games will be broadcast on TV.

All games – along with a daily pregame and a postgame show -- will be produced and distributed through AT&T SportsNet, starting with Thursday’s opening day contest against the Cubs.

On days that conflict with Penguins games, the broadcast will be on the Pittsburgh2 channel.

All games will also be broadcast through 93.7 The Fan. They will also be simulcast through KDKA 1020 and KDKA News Radio 100.1 FM for opening day and all weekday afternoon games.

In the booth, play-by-play announcers Greg Brown and Joe Block are returning, as are color analysts Bob Walk and John Wehner.

Additionally, there will be a rotation of former Pirates color analysts. Michael McKenry, Kevin Young and Matt Capps will all get a turn behind the microphone this season. The plan was originally to have the three do a similar rotation last year, but travel restrictions for broadcasters made it difficult for Young or Capps to join. As a result, McKenry was the extra analyst through the season. Young and Capps both made their broadcasting debuts during spring training this year.

McKenry was a catcher for the Pirates from 2011-2013 and played 311 games in the majors across seven seasons. He has also down in-studio work with AT&T SportsNet.

Young played first base 11 years with the Pirates from 1992-1995 and 1997-2003. He accumulated 1,007 career hits and 144 homers over his 12 year career.

Capps saved 138 games over his eight year major league career, the first five of which were with the Pirates from 2005-2009. He earned an All-Star nod with the Nationals in 2010.

The Pirates are opening their season Thursday against the Cubs, and will play host to them in their home opener April 8.
