The Penguins have placed blue-collar winger Colton Sceviour on waivers.
If he is not claimed by noon Tuesday, he can be assigned to the Penguins' American Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre or the taxi squad, although the Penguins would not be compelled to send him there.
Sceviour, who has two goals and no assists in 16 games, and defenseman Mike Matheson were acquired from Florida for winger Patric Hornqvist after last season.
He has a salary-cap hit of $1.2 million and will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.
