It didn't take long this season for Brandon Tanev to become a meme.
Tanev went viral on the internet at the end of training camp when his frightened expression in his yearly headshot photo made the rounds:

Tanev's brother, the Flames' Chris Tanev, was asked about the headshot two weeks ago.
"I got a lot of messages about it," he laughed. "I don't know what the team guy was doing, maybe they had it planned so he could get a little more attention. I don't know how that happened. Maybe he saw a ghost before the picture?"
I asked Tanev myself after the Penguins' morning skate on Monday what exactly he saw before taking the picture, and it sounds like PPG Paints Arena might just be haunted.
"I did actually see a ghost," he explained. "It was walking behind the gentleman that was taking our pictures. It kind of caught me off guard, I haven't seen one of those things yet, it was pretty rare to see that. That's why I had that facial expression."
