Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, in what he described as a "selfie video," told fans Saturday that they should follow the guidance of health professionals in combatting the coronavirus pandemic and expressed thanks to the medical personnel who are on the front line of that fight.
"I just want to take a moment here to encourage everyone to stay patient and continue to stay inside," he said, because "that's the best way we can beat this thing."
Speaking directly to the doctors, nurse and other medical staffers, Crosby said, "we appreciate everything that you guys do and we're very thankful for it."
Crosby message, which was released by the team, concluded on an optimistic note:
"We'll get through this," he said. "And get things back to normal here soon."
