Penguins, Florida exchange minor-league forwards taken in Calgary, Alberta (Penguins)

CALGARY, Alberta -- The Penguins and Panthers have swapped minor-league forwards, with the Penguins acquiring Kevin Roy in return for Ryan Haggerty.

Roy, a college teammate of Penguins forward Zach Aston-Reese at Northeastern, is under contract through this season, with a salary of $850,000 at the NHL level.

He is scheduled to report to the Penguins' farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

Roy, 26, is 5 foot 9, 172 pounds and has four goals and 10 assists in 23 games with Springfield in the American Hockey League this season

He was a fourth-round draft choice in 2012 for Anaheim. Roy appeared in 25 games with the Ducks during the 2017-18 season, putting up six goals and an assist.

He has 35 goals and 67 assists in 148 career games in the American Hockey League, where he played for Springfield and San Diego.

Haggerty, who is 6 foot, 200 pounds, had three goals and three assists in 23 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.
