COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Penguins have recalled forward Joseph Blandisi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton ahead of Friday's game against the Blue Jackets in Columbus, Jim Rutherford announced after the team's morning skate.

It's not clear why a forward was needed. All forwards from last game participated in today's morning skate here. Bryan Rust left the ice for about two minutes early in the skate after falling into the boards, but was a full participant when he returned to the ice and Mike Sullivan said "he'll be fine" when asked about his status.

These were the lines from the morning skate here in Columbus:

Jake Guentzel – Evgeni Malkin – Bryan Rust

Dominik Kahun – Jared McCann – Patric Hornqvist

Alex Galchenyuk – Sam Lafferty – Dominik Simon

Zach Aston-Reese – Teddy Blueger – Brandon Tanev

This is Blandisi's third recall of the season. In his previous two stints, he recorded a combined one goal and one assist in nine games. He has three goals and three assists in 10 games with Wilkes-Barre this year.
