Video: Nailers' Hawkins scores lacrosse-style goal taken at PPG Paints Arena (Penguins)

Nailers forward Brandon Hawkins scored a sick lacrosse-style goal in the Nailers' Tuesday morning win over the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Hawkins, 25, scooped the puck up behind the net and scored in the second period:

"That particular move has become more common, let's say, in the last so many years," head coach Mike Bavis said after the win. "He's a high-end shooter, but he does have really high-end hand skills. Just the wherewithal to go to that from below the goal line is a whole different level. He's a special player in a lot of ways. I'm sure we'll see that somewhere on TV."

The Nailers won the game, 4-3, after defenseman Blake Siebenaler scored in the final five seconds of the game. Jan Drozg scored twice, his second consecutive multi-goal game.

Hawkins is a first-year pro and an undrafted free agent signing out of Northeastern University, playing on an AHL contract. He has two goals and three assists in seven games with the Nailers this season, and one assist in three games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
