Sidney Crosby left the Penguins' 3-2 shootout win over the Blackhawks at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday night with a lower-body injury sustained on his first shift of the third period.
He later left the building without much apparent issue, though it still remains to be seen if he's seriously hurt.
Crosby appeared to tweak his ankle when his skate caught on the ice after a one-handed shove from Chicago's Erik Gustafsson, then blocked a shot at the other end, also by Gustafsson:
Crosby immediately went to the Penguins' bench after the blocked shot, then right down the tunnel. About a half-hour after the game, the hockey staff of DKPittsburghSports.com saw Crosby leave the arena. He was not wearing any visible aids like a boot or a brace, but appeared to have a slight limp.
Mike Sullivan said Crosby was being evaluated for a lower-body injury "as we speak," adding that the Penguins would have more information Monday. The Penguins have a scheduled off-day Sunday.
