The Penguins made two roster moves on Monday evening, putting defenseman Brian Dumoulin on injured reserve and sending defenseman Zach Trotman to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on a conditioning assignment, Jim Rutherford announced.
Dumoulin was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 18. Injured reserve dictates a player must be out of the lineup for at least seven days, which means Dumoulin must sit out until Oct. 25, making this Saturday's game in Dallas the first game in which he is eligible to play.
Dumoulin was absent from Monday's practice with a lower-body injury, likely sustained in the game against Dallas. With Dumoulin absent, Kris Letang played with John Marino on the top pairing, Justin Schultz and Marcus Pettersson remained together, and Jack Johnson, Erik Gudbranson, Chad Ruhwedel, and Juuso Riikola rotated on the last pairing with Trotman.
