CRANBERRY, Pa. -- The Penguins made their first round of cuts from training camp on Friday.

Among the first to be cut were some expected names, like the players on AHL contracts: Matt Abt, Chase Berger, Jon Lizotte, Michael Kim, Ben Sexton and Dustin Tokarski. They'll return to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for its training camp.

Also in the first round of cuts was Calen Addison, who was also expected to be an early cut because he's not yet eligible to play in the AHL this season. He'll return to his junior team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL.

The other cuts in the first group were Alex D'Orio, Jan Drozg and Jordy Bellerive, who are on NHL contracts and will be turning pro this season. They'll also report to Wilkes-Barre's camp.
