When speaking about Wilkes-Barre's roster for the coming season, Vellucci said "I'm here to win. I'm here to develop and win, and you can do both. I think you have to do both for the organization. We want to develop winners, and we want to develop guys who will do whatever it takes to win."
Vellucci also spoke about his experience winning the Calder Cup last season with Charlotte, but said "it's over, I'm moving on. ... I'm really happy to be a Penguin."
