Have yourself a day, Mason Martin.
Martin, 19, a first baseman for Pirates' Class A Greensboro Grasshoppers, cracked a three-run walkoff home run Sunday in Game 1 of the team's doubleheader against the Lakewood BlueClaws. Apparently, Martin liked the feeling, so he decided to do it again in Game 2.

"[Grasshoppers second baseman] Rodolfo Castro comes up to me and he starts smiling at me and I couldn't help but smile back at him," Martin said after the wins. "Because we both knew what the situation was. I went up there and I'm not saying I tried to hit a home run, but I was definitely trying to get a pitch that I could handle, a pitch that I could do some damage with."
Those two plate appearances netted two wins for his squad and six total runs. Not bad. Not bad at all.
"Today was really crazy for me," Martin said. "It was probably the coolest day I've ever had at the ballpark... That was just out-of-body."
This year, Martin is batting .241/.345/.524 with 11 home runs in 40 games and 145 at-bats. His 38 RBIs lead the South Atlantic League. Martin was a 17th-round pick by the Pirates in the 2017 June Amateur Draft. While those numbers definitely show some promise, Martin understands something like this probably won't happen again, and he's not taking the moment for granted.
"I couldn't even believe it at first, because I hit it and I knew it was going to be gone," Martin said, "but when I was starting to round first base I couldn't even like believe it. The situation came up again and it happened again. What are the odds of that?"
