MITCH KELLER - ALTOONA CURVE

Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus released their top prospects lists for 2019 on Tuesday and three Pirates are on each.

Right-hander Mitch Keller is ranked 18th on Baseball Prospectus' top 101 and 26th on Baseball America's top 100. Third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes is No. 49 on BA's list and No. 55 on BP's list, while BA has shortstop Oneil Cruz at No. 79 and BP has him at No. 91.

Outfielders Travis Swaggerty (82) and Calvin Mitchell (97) were also ranked by Baseball Prospectus.

Keller is the only player on the 40-man roster. Last season, the 22-year-old was a combined 12-4 with a 3.48 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 25 starts with Triple-A Indianapolis, Double-A Altoona and high-A Bradenton.

Hayes spent last season at Altoona, batting .293/.375/.444 with seven home runs and 12 stolen bases in 117 games. The 21-year-old also won his second consecutive Gold Glove for being the best defensive third baseman in the minor leagues.

Cruz, 20, batted .286/.343/.488 with 14 homers and 11 steals in 103 games at low-A West Virginia (Charleston).

Swaggerty, 21, was the Pirates' first-round draft pick last year, selected from the University of South Alabama with the 10th overall selection. He then hit a combined .239/.322/.383 with five homers and nine steals in 52 games with the two West Virginia farm clubs -- low-A Charleston and short-season Morgantown.

Mitchell, 19, spent his first full professional season with Charleston in 2018 and had a .280/.344/.427 line with 10 homers in 119 games.
