Ravens gain ground on Steelers in AFC North taken at Highmark Stadium (Steelers)

RAVENS DEFENSIVE BACKS TONY JEFFERSON AND MARLON HUMPHREY (29) - MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

The Steelers' hold on first place in the AFC North became very precarious Saturday night.

The Ravens notched a 22-10 road victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Baltimore raised its record to 9-6 and is only percentage points behind the Steelers (8-5-1) in the division standings.

The Steelers still control their own destiny and can earn the division title by winning their remaining two games. However, a loss Sunday at the Saints — New Orleans’ 12-2 record is the best in the NFL — would not only drop Pittsburgh into second place in the division, but could put them outside of the playoff picture heading into the final weekend, depending on other games’ results. They would then need to win their last game and get help from other teams to qualify for the postseason.

The regular season ends next Sunday with the Steelers hosting the Bengals (6-8) and the Ravens playing at home against the Browns (6-7-1).

The Steelers currently have the fifth-best record in the AFC behind the Chiefs (11-3), Chargers (11-4), Texans (10-4) and Patriots (9-5). The Ravens, Titans (9-5) and Colts (8-6) also remain in playoff contention.
