WASHINGTON -- Evgeni Malkin's been punished enough.
The NHL decided Thursday to not suspend or fine Malkin for his shoulder-to-head hit on the Capitals' T.J. Oshie the previous night because, according to the league, the in-game penalties -- a five-minute major and game misconduct -- were sufficient and because, again according to the league, he was bracing for impact more than he was initiating contact.
This was the hit, 3:27 into the third period of the Penguins' 2-1 loss at Capital One Arena:
Oshie would return to the game and score the winning goal.
