The Steelers checked off two more pre-draft visits today: SMU edge defender Elijah Roberts and Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos.

At 6-4, 285 pounds with 33 5/8-inch arms, Roberts is a potential option as a defensive end in the Steelers' 3-4 scheme. He might not have the proper size or length to play on the edge in the NFL. The good thing is he's played in a number of spots on the Mustangs' defensive line, and he was productive (17.5 sacks over last two seasons).

Amos fits the bill for the Steelers' current preference at outside cornerback. He's 6-1 and 195 pounds, though his 31 1/4-inch arms aren't quite as long as Joey Porter Jr.'s (34 inches) or Cory Trice Jr.'s (32 3/8 inches). But, he's a press-man corner that does some of his best work out of Cover 3, which the Steelers run more often than anything else. He lacks a little ball production (four interceptions in five years), but forces a high percentage of incompletions. He's a potential first-rounder, though he probably will end up being a second-round pick.
