While Giants quarterback RussellWilson stated in his introductory press conference Wednesday that his focus is solely on his new team, he reflected fondly on the one year he spent in a Steelers uniform.
"Obviously, Pittsburgh was a special place for me," Wilson said. "Pittsburgh brought me so much love, man. I have so many teammates that I'm super close with. Guys like TJ (Watt) and Cam (Heyward), Miles Killebrew. But there's so many others that go unnoticed. Those relationships and experiences, man, I cherish that every day. I have some of my greatest memories being there with some great guys."
Wilson was also asked about the waiting game the Steelers and Giants have seemingly played with AaronRodgers this offseason. Rodgers didn't end up in New York, so the Giants pivoted and signed Wilson to a one-year, $10.5-million contract.
"Aaron Rodgers is a tremendous football player. He's done some amazing things in this league. I've been fortunate to be able to do some great things, too," Wilson said. "And really what I'm focused on is right now, and what we can do here. That's been my focus since I've signed."
