The Steelers have brought back offensive lineman Max Scharping on a one-year contract. The financial details are not yet known.
Scharping was signed off the Commanders' practice squad last season, and wound up playing in two regular season games and the wild-card game for the Steelers. He has 81 games and 33 starts over six NFL seasons under his belt, giving the offensive line more depth ahead of the draft.
Because Scharping was last on the Steelers, re-signing him doesn't affect the compensatory pick formula for next year, in which the team is currently projected to receive the maximum of four comp picks.
