On the heels of a historic 2024-25 campaign, graduate center Khadija Faye officially announced Thursday evening that she will declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft.
"Thank you to the University of Pittsburgh with all my heart," said Faye. "I came to this wonderful city not knowing what to expect. Little did I know, the amazing people, staff, teammates and friends I would be surrounded with. The journey has been remarkable and full of achievements. I have cherished every step of this journey. I will forever be grateful to Chancellor Joan Gabel, Director of Athletics Allen Greene, Coach Tory Verdi and staff, as well as the entire athletics support team. I am excited for the next chapter and will be officially declaring for the 2025 WNBA Draft."
In her lone season at Pitt, Faye garnered All-ACC First Team accolades - becoming just the third Panther in program history to do so, joining Liatu King (2024) and Brianna Kiesel (2015). Faye, a native of Dakar, Senegal, enjoyed a stellar 2024-25 regular season campaign – leading the ACC in double-doubles (16), while being the first ACC player since Dolores Bootz (Georgia Tech) in 1987-88 to average at least 19.2 PPG, 10.2 RPG and 2.4 BPG. Additionally, Faye scored 20-plus points on 17 occasions – including seven-straight games to conclude the 2024-25 regular season.
