Pitt fell to Miami in their rubber match on Sunday afternoon, 14-4.
Ryan Zuckerman had his third three-hit game of the season, going 3 for 3 with an RBI and a walk in the series finale. Caden Dulin had another multiple-hit game on Sunday as he went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Luke Cantwell (1 for 4, 2B, R), AJNessler (1 for 3, RBI) and Jackson Cooke (1 for 3, 2B, RBI) all had hits this afternoon as well.
Freshmen pitchers Antonio Doganiero and AntonioSocarras each threw scoreless innings in relief on Sunday. Doganiero allowed just one hit and struck out one while Socarras had the second hitless and scoreless outing of his career.
Pitt (17-14, 4-8) travels to Eastwood Field to play Youngstown State this Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Panthers run-ruled the Penguins, 17-7 in eight innings, in their meeting earlier this season. In Pitt's most recent trip to Eastwood Field, the Panthers scored 23 runs in just seven innings. At the time, it was their most runs in a game since 2019.
