• End of sixth inning: Triolo engaged in a nice eight-pitch at-bat currently, but it ends with a ground out to short.

• So the play is ruled a groundout and Pham is out at first, Cruz is safe. Wood did not catch the ball.

• Seems to be some confusion after that play. Umps are meeting in front of the mound. Not sure if Pham's hit was caught or not. Cruz paused between first and second, thinking the same, I would assume.

• Cruz singles up the middle. Parker threw a slider low in the zone.

• Cutch flies out to center field. Swung at a fastball up and away. 

• Through six innings, Falter has done everything the Pirates have needed him too. Been a great outing so far.

• Great end to that inning for Falter as he gets a ground ball up the middle and Triolo turns the double play. Falter is at 73 pitches.

• Falter starting to look a little shaky after that walk to Garcia.

• Garcia walks. on 10 pitches, that's Falter's first free pass of the night.

• Crews pops up to Valdez in foul territory.

• End of fifth inning: That's three strikeouts for Reynolds. Missed on a 2-2 fastball above the zone.

• Hayes grounds out to third base. Might've been able to beat that one out. Kinda jogged down the first base line.

• HOME RUN: Davis cranks a 1-0 fastball up in the zone off the left field foul pole. Had an exit velocity of 106 mph. Pirates, 1-0

• Valdez lines out to right field.

• Rosario flies out to right field. Falter is at just 53 pitches and has had two single-digit pitch innings.

• Bell hits a grounder to Hayes and it turns into a 5-4-3 double play.

• Lowe singles up the middle on a sinker on the inside edge of the zone. 

• End of fourth inning: 6-4, IKF. 

• Triolo gets hit by a pitch and takes first.

• Pham makes solid contact on a line drive to right field.

• Cruz grounds out to first.

• Make that four straight 1-2-3 innings for Falter as Ruiz pops out to Cruz.

• Back-to-back fly outs for the Nationals.

• End of third inning: Cutch makes solid contact but lines out to Nuñez as the top of the order goes down in order again.

• Reynolds strikes out for the second time tonight. Missed on a slider below the zone.

• Hayes with a soft ground ball to Garcia at second.

• Triolo ranges into foul territory behind first base to snag a Nuñez pop up.

• Garcia grounds out to Triolo.

• Crews pops up to Davis in foul territory.

• End of second inning: Davis pops up with the bases loaded and that ends the threat.

• The Pirates came into today's game with 56 strikeouts, which was the most in majors. That's now up to 58. Next: White Sox at 49.

• IKF follows it up with a single of his own to center field. Two on for Valdez.

• Triolo singles into left field. Nice return for him.

• Pham lines out to center field.

• Four up, four strikeouts for the Pirates as Cruz goes down swinging.

• It's another 1-2-3 inning from Falter as Rosario grounds out to short.

• Cutch ranges to his left, near the right foul line, to reel in a fly ball from Bell.

• Lowe pops up to IKF. 

• End of first inning: Parker strikes out on the side with curveballs. McCutchen goes down looking.

• Reynolds strikes out on a curveball as well.

• Hayes strikes out looking at a 1-2 curveball right down the middle.

• It's a 1-2-3 first inning for Falter as he catches Ruiz looking at a 2-2 fastball down the heart of the plate.

• Davis throws out Wood at second.

• Yup, that's how we're going to start. Cruz doesn't really take a great route to a line drive from Wood for a single.

• So, that's how we're going to start? Pham battles the sun and almost loses a fly out from Call.
