Mitch Keller was phenomenal through seven-plus innings, the bullpen did its job and the offense struggled to generate just about anything. Still, the Pirates win, 2-1, in 13 innings on a walk-off winner for JoeyBart. I'll add more from the clubhouse here.
• Derek Shelton: “Sometimes they’re not pretty, but it’s a series win.”
• Oneil Cruz’s finger was a little sore after getting hit with a pitch last night. He was available to play in the field and run, but wasn’t available to hit, Shelton said.
• Bart said he didn’t see where the ball was at first on the pop fly near home plate where he collided with Endy Rodriguez. Didn’t hear anyone call it, so he tried to catch it. Didn’t even see Ke’Bryan Hayes’ clutch tag at the plate.
• Doesn’t seem like Endy is feeling any negative effects of that collision. Smiling and laughing like his usual self in here. Was obviously really encouraging to see him head back out on the field.
• Despite the lackluster results the Pirates have found early on, Bart said it’s a long year and the group can’t get too high or too low.
