Remember the personal Joe Ruttercolumn I referenced the other day about the Bucco Bricks?
Bob Nutting read it and responded via email:
Hello Joe -
After reading your story of your late-father, Tom, and his surprise message to you on a brick, I want to personally apologize to you and your family. Having recently lost my father, I know just how important those lasting memories are.
I too was shocked, angered and disappointed when I saw the images of the bricks haplessly discarded in the scrap yard. That was a mistake. It was disrespectful. It was wrong. I am sorry.
I take my stewardship of this franchise seriously. I am embarrassed. I have directed the team to accelerate their review, and to move quickly on the steps needed to fix this.
I have fallen short in my most important role - representing you, representing the community and all our fans. I intent to hold everyone in the organization, including myself, to a higher standard. You and your father deserve better.
Sincerely,
Bob
All I'll add: Yes, he wrote it. Yes, he's really, really angry. And yes, this has only everything to do with my lede to Friday Insider yesterday. So buckle up.
