Ke'Bryan Hayes played in his first game since March 5 today in a 15-5 win over the Orioles at LECOM Park. Hayes played third and hit in the leadoff spot where he 0-for-1 with two walks and scored a run.
As a precaution, Hayes has been kept out of game action until today after experiencing left side tightness when he was working on mechanics with his swing. Hayes said today that he he was only out of action for a day or two to let it rest before he got back to work building up volume and is now in a good place moving forward.
"Outside of one or two days where I kinda didn’t do anything just to let it cool down a little bit, once those few days were over I was pretty much right back, just no games," Hayes said. "But, I’m sure going forward, I mean I think played five today but I feel like I could’ve gone seven or nine even. So I think we're still right on track."
