Dali and I bought one of those original Bucco Bricks at PNC Park, five years before I was on the beat. Wanted our kids to always be able to see our names at the new stadium. It’s decaying in a Reserve Township dump now.
And this explanation from the team just now ... this ain't it, either. Everyone's known for years how to find their Brick as related to one of the iconic statues. It's part of the fabric of the place itself. I don't know what 'vertical' anything means, but all I hear is that it'll be cheaper.
Also and relevant, who THE HELL replaces these things with PLAIN WHITE CEMENT?
You have a globally renowned structure, praised far and wide, and you choose cement that even some sterile suburban CVS would reject?
This is different, my friends. This is bad. This is really bad. Fans just witnessed images of inscriptions of their loved ones, late ones, war heroes -- and themselves -- tossed into a trash heap. This needs to be fixed ALL THE WAY. And I don't just mean the sidewalk.
