Hockey: Gadowsky, players have links to Pens Elite
A group of former Pittsburgh Penguins Elite players will suit up for the Penn State hockey team when they play in the Frozen Four later this week.
Dane Dowiak, Matt DiMarsico, Casey Aman, Carter Schade, Braedon Ford and AlexServagno all played for Pens Elite at some point in their hockey careers. Penn State head coach GuyGadowsky also has a link to the Pens Elite program, as his son, Mac, played in the organization. MacGadowsky is a defenseman and Hobey Baker Award top-ten finalist at Army West Point.
Penn State has advanced to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history. The Nittany Lions will face Boston University in the national semifinals 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will be televised on ESPN. In the other semifinal, Western Michigan will take on Denver.
The National Championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
