Derek Army became the winningest coach in Nailers history with a 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones at WesBanco Arena. The win was his 148th behind Wheeling's bench, surpassing Clark Donatelli's record of 147.
Taylor Gauthier stopped 24 of 25 shots to improve to 15-10-11 this season. Of the three goaltenders to play at least two games for the Nailers this season, Gauthier leads in save percentage (.928), goals-against average (2.06) and shutouts (two).
Isaac Belliveau scored his fourth goal of the season, Gabe Klassen his 15th on the power play, and Matthew Quercia his 17th. Logan Pietila scored his seventh of the year into an empty net. Matty De St. Phalle recorded a pair of assists and leads the Nailers in scoring with 52 points (19 goals, 33 assists) in 58 games. The Nailers swept the season series against the Cyclones with the win, going 9-0.
